Marilyn Donovan then Director, and Karen Kaczenski, then Director of Christian Education, worked with various church committees in early 1994 to create and startup this program and eventually received support and borrowed funding from the church congregation in September 1994.

By November 1994 the Center became incorporated and renovations were quickly underway in order to become licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health on January 3, 1995 for starting up. The child care center is not an extension of the Church and its religious program, but rather a caring and dedicated separate child care program trying to meet the many needs of families with young children here in Cheshire, and is overseen by its own Board of Directors.

After an intense two-year self-study and validation process, we have been recognized with Accreditation in June 2004 by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This is a big achievement and recognition of the quality of our preschool program and we are delighted to be one of the few accredited programs here in Cheshire.
